Helping the Homeless and the Hungry. Responsibly.
Endorsed by Stellenbosch Muncipality
Coupons can be exchanged for either a meal or stay at the night shelter. Social workers meet with the needy and connect them with more network resources.

About Us

Thanks to Heartflow the public is now able to help homeless and hungry people in a sustainable, holistic way by connecting them with local non-profit companies.
The public can buy paper-based coupons from local shops and give them to homeless people who will benefit from the services provided by partnering organisations such as night shelters.
Our solution fosters interactions between isolated people in need and the public eager to help with a positive impact. We’re helping people to love people.

What We Offer
· The Coupon Project
The Problem
- It may encourage a victim mentality
- Can be used irresponsibly
- Not holistic
- It is a temporary solution
- Drives street economy
The Solution
Coupons can be exchanged to stay at the night shelter. Social workers meet with the needy and connect them with more network resources.
The benefits are:
- Inhibits irresponsible spending (e.g. alcohol and drugs)
- Supports charities helping those sleeping on the streets
- Encourages beneficiaries to take responsibility by having to go to the night shelter
- Support is more sustainable and holistic through the effort of partnering NPO’s
How To Help
Remember that if someone is hungry, food is available for free every day at the taxi rank over lunch via a feeding point.
If someone doesn’t want a coupon, or go to the feeding point, it might be they actually just wanted money.
· The Dog Walking Initiative
The Problem
Everybody likes to give their time and contribute, even the homeless, but for them this can be difficult
- Coupons are primarily obtained through begging which can be humiliating
- The dogs at animal welfare need to be walked
- Unsheltered people often have time and want to help
The Solution
- The dogs being walked is a fun activity for everyone involved
- The homeless can obtain coupons in a way other than begging
- It is easy to identify homeless people who are able to and willing to work thus making it easier to provide more support
- The dog walks are an easy and meaningful way for volunteers to get involved

What is your vision, mission and values?
Our aim is to enable healthy interaction between the general public and people in need.
Mission:
Our vision is being realised through a coupon system. These coupons are purchased by members of the public given to a person in need. The beneficiary can then use the coupon for any of its services at the indicated partners. Through this, we hope to limit the street economy and direct people in need to organisations where they can receive the proper support.
Values:
We believe in the potential and value of all human beings.
Through providing support in co-operation with our partners, we strive to achieve the following:
- Provide as holistic support possible
- Discouraging victim and hero mentalities
- Allowing for community interaction
- Addressing symptoms and causes of issues
- Supporting others in achieving their potential
- Limiting destructive habits and behaviours

“We want to enable healthy interaction between the general public and people in need.”
